Club cookout was enjoyed by all who
attended. About 25 to 30 of the club
members, friends and family did attend. Leroy
thanked everyone for attending. There
was lots food, fun and alcohol. This was
yet another pleasant event. We look
forward to having more events like this in the future. Leroy’s company is selling tickets to Kings
Dominion for October 7th at a cost of $23.
If you wish to attend please contact Leroy for your tickets (cash only).

ICBC
September meeting information – The lineage for the last two seasons has been
$9.50. The Baltimore centers are raising lineage fees to
$11.50, except Kings Point which will raise their lineage fee to $11.00 over
the next two months. For September and
October, the Baltimore
centers will charge the ICBC
$10.50, then beginning in November the lineage will increase to $11.50. The Mavericks match game scheduled for October 27th with CTBC will be located at Ritchie. All matches originally scheduled at Country
Club will now be relocated to Ritchie.
The Holiday Bowl still has not been decided. Clubs were asked if they wanted to hold the
Holiday Bowl Saturday night, December 15th at Gaithersburg or on Sunday, December 16th
at another located to be decided.
·
203 point system – Was somewhat confusing to
both clubs leaving the center Saturday night.
Not knowing for certain if the Mavericks had really won the match. After review of the how it works, the answer
is YES the Mavericks did win the match game over JUBP, 103-99. This is how it works out:
- Each
team can earn a possible 33 points (times 6 teams) plus 5 points for
total pins, for a total of 203.
- Each
bowler can earn 1 point for each game then 2 points for (the 3 game)
series. For a possible total of
points per individual.
- Total
pins per game (per team), earns 2 points and an additional 2 for total
set per team.
·
Leroy
stated the club needs to pick one or more tournaments to attend as a club. Leroy suggested Hanover as a tournament to attend as a club. Beverly
commented that there are several tournaments she wants to attend and could do
so with other groups, but would prefer to do so with the Mavericks. The club talks about going to the same
tournaments but it doesn’t happen. Leroy
asked for suggestions on how to rectify the problem. Tony W. suggested there be individual
tournament directors for different tournaments we want to attend. Following is the list of individuals and they
tournaments the will be coordinating:
Laura Scott Williamsburg Women’s
Katie Gamble-Johnson TNBA (NJ and Reno)
Beverly Brower Lebanon
Leroy Noble Williamsburg Men’s and Las Vegas Team
Championship
Justine Bowen?? USBC
Women’s
Margo Lowe/Sharon H. USBC
Men’s
Samantha G/Katie G–J. Hanover
Tony Wheeler Rodman &
Williamsburg Mixed
Moses Vincent Rochester
Open Virginia State Men’s
Kevin suggested we add Cincinnati to the list of
tournaments. Martessa asked for the
dates for the tournaments as well
as the date the monies are due. It was
also suggested that we do 50/50 raffles or
something of the sort, at match games, to offset some of the tournament
fees. Tony suggested doing 2nd game love
doubles. Everyone who wants to participate
would give a dollar or two and partners
are randomly chosen. Leroy suggested
doing the 2nd game mystery game.
A random number from
100-300 would be selected and if it’s your score from the 2nd game
you win. In each of these fund raisers half would go the winner(s) and the
other half to the club for tournament fees.
