Maverick Bowling Club Meeting
Minutes - January 20, 2008
Parkland Bowling Center 4:00 p.m.

Meeting was call to order by Leroy Noble (President) at 4:10 p.m.

Review and vote on October Minutes

The club meeting which was held on October 21, 2007 was a very short meeting. October minutes were never accepted.  Marcia placed a motion that the minutes for October 200 be accepted and Ernest second the motion.  All accepted and none opposed.  No abstains.

President read ICBC Letter

The letter from the I.C.B.C President (John Smith) regarding Drinking at match play was presented to the club. 

Star stated that it was mentioned at the I.C.B.C. meeting that all club members are responsible for cleaning up after themselves after the match games.

Review and vote on November Minutes

Taz also placed a motion that we accept the December minutes and Marcia second the motion.  All accepted.  Jerry Paige did not vote to accept the minutes for December meeting.

Treasurer's Report:

All club members that still have not fulfilled their financial obligation to the club will be put on probation.  Dues should have been paid in full by the December 2007 club meeting.  If a club member was not able to pay their dues in full in September, then there was a payment plan available (which included) 1/2 of your dues were due in September and a payment of $20 at the October meeting, $20.00 at the November meeting and $25.00 at the December meeting which would have the club member paid in full before the new year. 

Probation (Suspension) Status: 

A club member who has been put on probation will not be removed from probation until their club (financial) obligation has been satisfied.  Total number of club members is 59.  Total number of club members that are on probation 20.

Tournament Director Report

Katie was out sick and Star gave the report. The match game against the Crusaders is now on at its original date which is February 2nd at BA Gaithersburg.

The Superbowl will be held on February 10th at Capital Plaza (weather permitting) and the cost is $375.00.  Should it snow that day, then the Superbowl will be held at Perryhall and the cost will be $405.00. 

Any members that will not be available to bowl on February 2 (against the Crusaders) at least 10 and on February 10th at least 4 or 5 members will not be able to bowl at the Superbowl.

New Business Report

Discussion concerning the direction for the Mavericks Bowling Club seasons starting in January thru December and not being centered on the I.C.B.C.  Start attending tournament in the summer months as a club.

New meeting place:  Laura will be checking with the Library near PGCC and Marcia will be checking with the library across the street from the Rite-Aid Pharmacy (on Silver Hill Road). 

Sub-Committee Report

Website:

Leroy is searching for a host for the website.  He stated that he may have found one at the price of $35.99 for 24 months (2 years).  Marcia will be responsible for updating the website.

Trainers:  (Ernest & Jerry)

At the next meeting (February 17th) Ernest and Jerry will present a package regarding a program for any members that would like help with their bowling.

Election Committee (New)

An election committee has been formed and consists of Dinita Baxter, Samantha Granderson, Steve Wright and Marcia Noble.  The committee will be responsible for the new MBC election and nomination process. This is an election year for the Mavericks and we would need to know April 2008.

Jerry Paige stated that he would like to acknowledge those members who have 15 years with the Mavericks:

Moses Vincent, Trina Roberts and Eva Morrisey

Dinita made a motion to adjourn the meeting and everyone second that motion.

Meeting was adjourned at 6:10 p.m.
