MAVERICKS BOWLING CLUB

ATTENDANCE Leroy, Jerry, Marcia, Mike, Taz, Dinita, Renee, Chilly, Steve, Lenwood; Late: Tammi (excused), James S. (traffic accident), Tony, Katie (excused), Margo, Sharon H., Felix, Laura (excused), Kevin, James J. CALL TO ORDER Leroy called the meeting to order at 2:15pm.. MATCH GAME Congratulations on the win last night against Bad Intentions (BI) and a very upbeat feeling match game. Next match game on the October 28th vs. Cobra’s at Capital Plaza. Folders shall be distributed at this time, waiting on additional details for the bylaws. No Maverick match games in November. December 2nd match game vs. CTBC at Ritchie HOLIDAY BOWL December 16th at Dundalk, each club should provide their own food. Taz ask a question about expenses. Will the club be paying? Response was not for this event. Mike Hemsley will coordinate menu. There will be 4 teams for the holiday bowl, two (2) male teams and two (2) female teams. Persons that were present and volunteered were: Male: Taz, Steve, Shep, Mike, Tony, Chilly, Roc, Leroy, Jerry and Kevin Female: Dinita, Marcia, Renee, Laura, Nikki (not present) Katie will check for the remaining women. NEW BUSINESS Shirts – contact has been in made with the shirt supplier regarding the new shirts. Next year, each member (associates included) will receive a personalized shirt purchased by the club. Leroy will check on the price, for those who would like to purchase additional shirts. Events- Leroy would like to do an Atlantic City bus trip in August 2007. Dinita questioned why Atlantic City? Suggestions are welcomed. Website – There is someone currently working on the graphics for the website. Jerry and Leroy will construct the site. Leroy suggested that we look into paying for the website domain to eliminate pop-ups from the pages. Kevin questioned why pay for a site when it’s free and it’s not regularly visited? The response was to get rid of the pop-ups and to use the site as a means of communication to club members to cut down on the number of emails. TOURNAMENT DIRECTOR A list of club tournaments will be in the folders. If anyone has suggestions of other tournaments, notify Katie. Current club tournaments are Hanover and Lebanon. Leroy expressed that Williamsburg should not be a club tournament since many members go with other groups and individuals can only bowl singles and doubles once. Taz mentioned he really liked the Gastonia tournament. There are two (2) club teams going to Eastern regionals in November. • ICBC Updates • Both Katie and Leroy will not be available for attend the November ICBC meeting to be held at Capital Plaza at 11:30am. Jerry and Chilly volunteered to attend. The floor was open for any questions and or concerns: • Laura informed us of the comments of the other clubs observation of the Mavericks positive energy at last night’s match game.
